How Yoga and Natural Therapies Assist In Balancing Your Hormones Naturally

The female hormonal system is a complex and unexplored subject. There are a wide array of factors that can cause hormonal imbalances in our modern and fast paced lifestyles. Modern women are not taught to look within and live in peace with their natural cycles.

For many years, I had to deal with heartbreaking hormonal acne because my hormones were so out of whack. I thought (and was told by my gynecologist) that I should just get used to it as a female. After many years of excruciating period pains and persistent acne, I realized I had to take charge of my hormonal health.
Whether this is your case or not, it is important that you, as a conscious woman who is willing to be empowered and healthy, to understand what goes on in your body. Understanding your cycle and the hormones involved in each phase, along with lifestyle changes can help you not only with your hormones but also with overall health.

Ask yourself:
Are my periods too heavy and painful? Am I not getting my periods every month?
Do I have acne due to a hormonal condition? Do I have frequent mood swings/depression? Do I frequently and easily gain weight?

If you answered yes to one or more of those questions, I feel your pain, because your pain is also mine.

We are all one in this! I am here to show you how you can improve, or as I did, heal your hormones naturally through yoga and adding some wellness routines into your life.

Yoga along with Ayurveda and other natural therapies have been around for centuries. Incorporating a daily practice of yoga and mindfulness (which is being aware of your body, mind and feelings in the present moment), along with healthy eating will go a long way in healing your hormones. It is a journey of getting to know your body and appreciating it every moment.

The ancient practice of yoga and breathing techniques when done in a mindful manner can stimulate the hormone producing glands and help them maintain optimal function. This leads to consistent production and distribution of these hormones around the body.

It has been two years since I quit birth control. It was not an easy decision since I had become so dependent on it. Birth control means safety for many women - it's a comfort zone, a tradition in a society where we are not taught how to appreciate our womanhood. I have no regrets quitting the pill! I'm on a beautiful journey learning more about my body and menstrual cycle. I developed so much as a woman by leaving behind certain standards that don’t serve me and deciding to honour my hormonal heath.

Of course, there were challenges along the way that made me want to go back on the pill, such as hormonal acne. However, as time passed I realized that the pill steals the privilege of having contact with the divine feminine.
I found great freedom in facing my fears post the birth control pill. It is a great pleasure to feel my body ovulate, and bleed almost pain free after all the excruciating period pain that I had in the past. I have much more energy and feel empowered by all the knowledge I gained.

My hormones are quite balanced nowadays, my acne cleared up immensely when I decided to break myself free and get in tune with my body. When I surrendered to this powerful woman within me. When I listened to my body and became my own healer. There is a lot of natural tools which assisted me along the way. As I mentioned before, adjusting eating habits, good quality supplements, acupuncture, meditation and yoga. Besides that, I understood that most of the answers to my hormonal disorder was inside me.

Your heart definitely knows all the answers, and your body wants to heal. Good health and vitality is the natural state of your body! It just requires time, patience and a lot, a lot of self-love.

I am grateful for all that I have been through, it was an amazing channel showing me all the time the way to loving myself. All the physical and emotional pain guided me to take charge of my life and heal. This is available to all of us by connecting to our true nature and letting your body lead the way back to yourself!
